Basically it is your company and you are the boss and the location is in your home. The type of business you can run from your home can be a company that provides customers with a product. An example of this would be you want to sell your famous oatmeal raisin cookies. So you set up a website take orders pack up your cookies and ship them from your home.
Or perhaps instead of a physical product it could be that you provide your clients information. Perhaps you are an expert on drawing. So you write an ebook on how to draw horses. Then you make this book available to purchase and download on their computers. Whatever your business is you run it from your home office with you as the boss.
Having a home based business can be a challenge You have to be committed to all the long hours that are needed to establish a business at home. And you need to plan. Whether your business is in a spare room in your house or a small corner of your kitchen you need to make space that is exclusively for your business. The idea situation would be to have your desk and computer away from your children. Make your space work friendly with the equipment you need and a comfortable chair. And I always recommend you keep your home business and your personal business separate. What I mean is dont be distracted from your business by doing you bill paying at the same desk. Trust me you can be more productive when you are not being bombarded by the extra worries of the world
