Network Marketing Change
The other night I received a call from a former network marketing colleague also known as my sponsor in my Amway/Quixtar IBO ship. We had spoke about a year ago as I had been conspicuously absent from the weekly meetings. At that time I informed him that the marketing plan from Amway was not working for me and that I was seeking additional help.
Well what do you know but a year later he is involved in another network marketing company. Additionally he left Amway to go into Monavie and now is a completely new venture. And of course he proceeds to tell me how great it is and how different it is from Amway.
Be that as it may he was all concerned about me getting into this new venture. Didnt ask what I was up to didnt ask if I even was out looking for a home based business nothing. I knew as soon as he was talking all about him and his new great opportunity he had learned nothing new from what is being taught at Amway.
So I politely responded with send me the information and I will look at it. And of course not being a proper prospect he still sent all the information and probably wished and hoped and talked about me all night. And as predicted after I emailed him back with what I was doing and how I gave him credit for taking on another venture but at this time I am committed to one thing and one thing only he did not respond because I did not tell him what he wanted to hear.
Now since he has been trained in the next world I did not receive a follow up email and yet he will approach again at some point as I am obviously still on his friends/warm market list.
Now this person is a nice guy he is really trying to better his lifestyle through these companies like Amway and his new venture My Power Mall and I do give him credit. But at what point do people not look at the numbers and realize that the products are fine it is the marketing plan that is killing their business.
I find it interesting that people tend to change their product and continue to do the same marketing strategy. I find it almost absurd that people dont at some point look outside the box and try to implement different marketing strategies.
The bottom line is that I hope you can take from this story a little about marketing and even more importantly prospecting. What would be more wonderful if you actually asked the people you are talking to how they are doing? Would they be interested in a better insert benefit of your product? If they say no then they have determined the product is not right for them and move on.
We make our money off of the product not the opportunity. Stop pitching opportunity and pitch the product and start making a buck or two. Ask your Amway person about the statistics of success as an Amway IBO. I guarantee the next words out of their mouth will be but we have the best team and right now is the best time.
People who are successful give to people what they need want or desire not what they want need or desire.
Thank for spending a little time with me today and dont let anyone or anything get in the way of your dreams.
