3 Necessary Ingredients For Starting A Hair Salon
I hope to make it as easier for you to make the important decisions that weigh on you constantly obviously not knowing what to expect or if you’ll even be a business that is taken seriousily. If you’re having a little anxiety I certainly understand and it might be healthy too but please don’t let your uneasiness hold you back from your ultimate goal of owning your own business even in this economy.
Now I’m not going to write out a business plan for you or tell you how to reduce your expenditures for a building I’m sure you know who the experts are in your community. No what I want to talk to you about is you and how committed you are about making it on your own.
And if you think that it’s going to be a cake walk … you can forget it. Most likely it’ll be the absolute hardest gig you ever pulled but don’t let that stop you. There’s proably quite a few of you that are ready to extend yourself but you’ve floundered for a variety of reasons. And I’m definitely not going to try to read your mind to understand what’s going on but my desire today is to give you the absolute basics that you must have to succeed.
Nevertheless you probably don’t have access to them all right now but it’s certainly not your fault … because there are many in the industry that don’t have it either and I’m not going to blow smoke up your skirt but they are at least making a go of it. But I know you are different. I realize you’re confident that you can do more and achieve more than the average runofthemill stylist shop … and you will IF:
You pursue your trade with a passion: Most of mankind regardless of their profession only produce on an intermediate level of accomplishment. Most don’t strive to achieve or succeed they are complacent and mundane in their work ethics. Oh sure they have visions or granduer and most definitely about pulling in the big bucks but they won’t do whatever it takes to bring it about. I’ll tell you straight up if you don’t do more and prepare more than everyone else you’ll be exactly like everyone else; just another stylist to go to once and then move on. Oh you’ll have some regulars that stay with you for a while but you’re not building a business you’ve just bought yourself a job. Remember those that perform do what the nonperformers won’t do and that drives you to go the extra distance for your business.
You know how to give exceptional customer service: Your prospects will become customers and then clients when you know how to care for them in ways that other hairdressers don’t. I’m pretty sure that I could say that in almost any city in the world there’s a lot of different salons that anyone could choose to get their hair styled. What do you think will make the difference? Let me disclose to you exactly what it is: YOU! Only you can make the difference to your potential clients so it’s up to you to figure out how to deliver incredible customer service.
You have to know how to market yourself: This is what will separate the talkers from the players and you have to bring it all about and do what others won’t. All of you know that you have to spend time developing your skills to style hair and all the other aspects of being a very good stylists. Wow you must be very proud of what you’ve been able to accomplish in you trade so far and why not. But being the best in your town won’t make you any money … if you haven’t figured it out yet no matter how good you are you’ve got to get people sitting in the chair in front of you. And the one that learns to how to market and can constantly get people in that chair on a regular basis is the one that becomes the big dog and then gets the healthy paychecks too. There isn’t a 3 step process for marketing salons; it’s a consistent commitment of doing little things that will keep on bringing in customers regularily until you’ve filled up your calendar and can’t get another on it.
Is there material available for you to learn more about this? Oh heck yea a lot more you just have to go to the right place to find it and then start to implement it into your business. One more really important statement: do something everyday that will bring you some customers and that’s what will bring you the money.
